Do you really believe in this new Tech?
New technology is always disruptive, and causes a whole lot of transition especially when there’s is significant progress. We can see a lot of key figures and smart heads moving from the traditional system to web3 - from programming, to design, finance, communication, regulation, etc.
It’s obvious that blockchain is disruptive, and the entire Web3 is moving at incredible speed.
It’s hard for people who are in Crypto full-time to catch up, nonetheless, people who have full-time jobs on the side.
Early adopters have made a lot of money, and not to mix things up: we’re still early, but not as early as when prices of major protocols were flat out. Those prices won’t go to zero because there’s a lot of value being accrued and a lot of disruption going on.
Nevertheless, for even early adopters to keep up, they need to keep their research hat on and grind like there’s something new every day - because actually, there is.
DeFi a year ago isn’t on the same level today - Protocol owned liquidity(PoL), DeFi 2.0
NFTs are evolving fast - lending & borrowing
Multiple narratives - Learn&Earn, Play2Earn, Move2Earn, Sleep2Earn, etc
Stablecoins are taking new forms - algorithmic
Regulation is catching up quickly because adoption is happening at a faster pace
There’s an ongoing debate between doxxed and anon for project teams
But do YOU really believe in this new tech?
Do you have enough conviction to stay, and HODL regardless of the volatility, and dynamic nature of the evolving narratives? A lot of people wanted to be early in tech - of course, everything good looks beautiful from a rearview.
The same opportunity is staring you in the face with crypto. Look at major L1s, L2s, DeFi, NFTs.
We even have projects in the index fund (decentralized VC funds) category - with Jade protocol cementing their presence with an innovative rising floor model - backed by algorithmic buy bots that ensure price never falls below the Floor.
Most of these are yet experiments - same way early big tech companies were experiments.
The ecosystem has diverse participants. Some are builders, some users, while some are both. All is okay as long as you’re benefitting from the ecosystem in some way.
Builders need conviction in their own vision to keep building, however, they are motivated by revenue. Crypto is the fastest place to raise funds because they’re lots of ecosystems that are ready to incentivize builders.
People who are not builders need a lot more conviction. This means that it’s easier to have staying power when you get busy building with existing project teams, founding a project, and getting incentivized in some kind of way.
There’s still a lot of opportunity in Web3; and even if you’re completely new, it’s probably going to take just about 12-18 months to develop the skills required to fully transition.
If you’re already busy and just looking to put your money in new tech - that’s awesome too. Apparently, it’s very easy to retire in DeFi with a $100-$500k portfolio - depending on location.
Hey! Can you spot the opportunity right in your face and how relevant it’s going to be for you and posterity over the next decade?
To your success!
